The National Institute of Education (NIE) in Maharagama is now accepting applications for the full-time Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management (PGDEM) program for 2025/2026. This one-year program is offered in Sinhala, Tamil, and English mediums and will be conducted online, with two in-person sessions per term if necessary.
Course Details: Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management
- Duration: One year (Full Time).
- Mode of Study: Online, with three academic terms.
- Venue: Department of Professional Development and Educational Management, Faculty of Education Leadership Development and Management, National Institute of Education, Meepe Junction, Padukka.
- Course Fee: Rs. 80,000, payable in two equal installments. Additionally, there is an application fee of Rs. 1,500 and a registration fee of Rs. 2,000.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible, applicants must have the following qualifications by the application closing date:
- Belong to the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service, Sri Lanka Teacher Educators Service, or Sri Lanka Principal Service. Alternatively, applicants may be the head of a government or semi-government educational institute or a Pirivena.
- Hold a Bachelor of Education degree from a recognized university or institute.
- Alternatively, hold a first degree in another field from a recognized university or institute, along with a professional qualification such as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, a Trained Teacher Certificate, or a National Diploma in Teaching.
- Have a minimum of four years of teaching experience, with at least two years in administrative and supervisory roles.
- Not be following any other full-time course at the National Institute of Education or any other university or educational institute during the 2025/2026 academic year.
All applicants must pass an online interview conducted by the Department of Professional Development and Educational Management.
