The Ministry of Education has announced the launch of the Home Economics Skills Development Competition, a national-level initiative aimed at promoting practical knowledge and essential life skills among school students.
This competition, organized under the supervision of the Department of Examinations, is designed to assess and develop students’ competencies in areas such as food preparation, household management, textile and clothing, and health and well-being. By encouraging hands-on participation, the program seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application.
Open to both junior and senior secondary school students, the competition will take place at zonal and provincial levels, culminating in a national event. Participants will be evaluated on creativity, accuracy, safety, presentation, and sustainability of practices.
