The government has decided to significantly increase the financial assistance provided to disaster-affected individuals for cleaning their homes upon returning from displacement.

According to the new directive, the allowance, which was previously set at Rs. 10,000, has now been raised to Rs. 25,000.

This decision was announced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma. He confirmed that the Ministry of Finance has authorized the increase to better support displaced families as they resettle and restore their homes.
