First Bar Exam for SLTES Grade III

The Department of Examinations has announced that the First Efficiency Bar Examination for Officers in Grade III of the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators’ Service will be held in March 2026 in Colombo. The examination is conducted in accordance with the service minute published under Gazette Extraordinary No. 1925/37 and effective from 28 July 2015.

According to the official notice, applications must be submitted online through the Department of Examinations website (www.doenets.lk) under the “Online Applications – Recruitment Exams/E.B. Exams” section.

Application Timeline

• Online application opening: December 08, 2025 (9:00 a.m.)
• Online application closing: January 02, 2026 (9:00 a.m.)
• After submitting the online form, applicants must download and print the application, complete the required sections by hand, certify it, and send it via registered post to the Department of Examinations on or before the closing date.

Examination Structure

The First Efficiency Bar Examination consists of four written subjects:

1. General Management and Institutional Functions – 100 marks (1½ hrs)
2. Financial Regulations – 100 marks (1½ hrs)
3. Educational Reforms and Education Law – 100 marks (2 hrs)
4. Communication Skills – 100 marks (2 hrs)

Candidates may sit for all subjects in one attempt or in multiple attempts. A minimum of 40% marks per paper is required to pass.

Medium of Examination

The exam will be conducted in Sinhala, Tamil, or English, and candidates must select one medium when applying.
