The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has announced the second phase of recruitment for English teachers in National Schools under the Sri Lanka Teacher Service Grade 3-1(C). Qualified diploma holders will receive their appointments on 29th and 31st July 2025 at the Ministry of Education, Isurupaya, based on their performance in written and practical examinations conducted in 2021 and 2024.
Key Details:
- Eligibility: Candidates who cleared the written exam (12 December 2021) and practical tests (May–December 2024) for English teaching vacancies.
- Appointment Process: School allocations will prioritize aggregate marks from interviews and practical tests. Candidates must express their school preferences in person on the designated dates.
- Dress Code: Male candidates must wear black trousers and white shirts, while female candidates should opt for white/cream sarees or Kandyan sarees.
The Ministry emphasized mandatory attendance for all qualified candidates, with appointment letters to be issued on the same day. Lists of selected candidates and calling letters are available online.
This recruitment drive, initially advertised in March 2021, aims to address teacher shortages in National and Provincial Schools, particularly for specialized subjects like English, IT, and Aesthetics in Northern and Eastern Provinces.
