Recruitment for Driver Grade III Posts in Eastern Provincial Public Service – 2026

The Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission has officially announced the commencement of applications for the recruitment of Driver Grade III officers to the Joint Drivers’ Service under the Eastern Provincial Public Service for the year 2026.

Qualified Sri Lankan citizens are invited to apply online through the official Eastern Provincial Council website under the “Exams” section.

• Application Opening Date: May 26, 2026 – 9:00 AM
• Application Closing Date: June 22, 2026 – 10:00 PM

Recruitment Categories

The recruitment process will be conducted under two examination streams:

1. Open Competitive Examination (EX/REC/26/06)

• Covers 80% of vacancies
• Open for eligible residents of the Eastern Province
• Applicants must be between 18–45 years of age
• Requires:
  • G.C.E. Ordinary Level qualifications or NVQ Level 3 certification
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience after obtaining a valid licence

2. Limited Competitive Examination (EX/REC/26/07)

• Covers 20% of vacancies
• Reserved for eligible employees currently serving in the Eastern Provincial Government Service
• Requires at least 5 years of continuous satisfactory service

Essential Qualifications

All applicants must:

• Be Sri Lankan citizens
• Possess valid driving licences in categories “B” and “C”
• Meet the required physical and medical standards
• Demonstrate good conduct and professional suitability

Salary Scale

Selected candidates will receive salaries under the PL 03-2025 salary structure in accordance with Public Administration Circular 10/2025.

Examination Process

The recruitment process includes:

• A written examination
• A practical trade test

The written examination will assess:

• Aptitude and analytical skills
• General knowledge and road regulations
