The Faculty of Agriculture of Eastern University, Sri Lanka, has called for applications from eligible Diploma holders in Agriculture for admission to the B.Sc. Agriculture Degree Programme – 2024/2025, under the provision of Special Entry for Public Officers.
The degree programme will be conducted over four academic years, and the medium of instruction will be English. Admissions are limited to 5% of the student population, over and above the regular intake. Selection will be based on performance at a written examination and interview, following the shortlisting of applicants.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be permanent employees of relevant organizations and satisfy the following requirements:
1. Educational Qualifications
- A Two-year Diploma in Agriculture from:
- Any School of Agriculture of the Department of Agriculture, or
- Advanced Technological Institutes
- G.C.E. (O/L):
- Six passes in one sitting, including Science and Mathematics
And
- G.C.E. (A/L) – Old Syllabus:
- Passes in at least three (03) subjects in one sitting from:
- Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Agriculture
OR
- Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Agriculture
- Passes in at least three (03) subjects in one sitting from:
- G.C.E. (A/L) – New Syllabus:
- Passes in at least three (03) subjects in one sitting from:
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Mathematics, Agriculture
- Passes in at least three (03) subjects in one sitting from:
2. Experience
- A minimum of five (05) years of work experience (as at the closing date of applications) as a permanent employee in the government or private sector, in the field of Agriculture, after obtaining the Diploma.
