The Central Environmental Authority (CEA), under the Ministry of Environment, has announced 136 vacancies for the post of Environmental Officer (MA 5-1, Grade III). This recruitment drive aims to attract qualified and dynamic professionals to contribute to environmental pollution control, management, education, and awareness initiatives across Sri Lanka.
Key Details:
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must hold a UGC-recognized Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Physical Science, Biological Science, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Sociology, Mass Communication, or Geography (Special).
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 22 and 45 years old.
- Salary Scale: Selected candidates will be placed on a salary scale of Rs. 58,740-109,410, with an initial step of Rs. 49,031 as per Management Services Circular No. 01/2025.
- Fringe Benefits: The position offers encashment of unutilized medical leave, medical insurance, and distress loans, along with permanent employment under EPF and ETF schemes.
Selection Process:
Candidates will undergo a competitive written examination covering:
- Subject Knowledge (Environment Pollution Control, Waste Management, etc.)
- Aptitude Test
- Language Proficiency (English and Sinhala/Tamil)
Successful candidates will be placed based on merit, vacancy availability, and preferred work districts, with a mandatory three-year service at the initial posting.
