Open University of Sri Lanka Extends Application Deadline for BA (Hons) in English and English Language Teaching (2024/2025)

Colombo, January 2025 – The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) has extended the application deadline for its BA (Hons) in English and English Language Teaching program for the 2024/2025 academic year. This four-year program is designed for individuals looking to enhance their expertise in English language education and is offered at Colombo, Kandy, Matara, Jaffna, and Batticaloa centers.

Mode of Study: Hybrid (both online and onsite academic activities)

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Possess the OUSL Diploma in English Language & Literature
Hold a Diploma in Teaching English (ESL) of 2 years from a National College of Education (NCOE)
Have a recognized 2-year Teacher Training Qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language, approved by OUSL
Obtain passes in three (3) G.C.E. (A/L) subjects, including English Literature or an equivalent qualification

Additionally, all applicants except those with an OUSL Diploma must pass a selection test conducted by the Department of Language Studies.
