The Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) has announced that applications are now open for the Practical Aptitude Test for university admissions for the academic year 2024/2025. The test is a mandatory requirement for candidates seeking admission to the following degree programmes:
- B.Sc. (Honours) Degree in Sport Sciences & Management (SSM)
- B.Sc. (Honours) Degree in Physical Education (PED)
Applicants must have obtained at least ‘S’ grades in any three subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination 2024 under any subject stream, as specified in the University Admissions Handbook 2024/25.
All candidates who have applied for these programmes through the University Grants Commission (UGC) online portal are required to sit for the Practical Aptitude Test. This test plays a critical role in the selection process and is compulsory for admission consideration.
The Aptitude Test Comprises Two Components:
a. Physical Fitness Assessment:
This section evaluates essential physical capabilities through the following activities:
- 35m Sprint
- Shuttle Run
- 1000m Run
- Standing Broad Jump
- Push-Ups (same format for both male and female candidates)
- Sit & Reach Test
Candidates must present a medical certificate certified by a recognized MBBS physician on the day of the test.
b. Sports Achievements Evaluation:
Candidates’ sports achievements from 2020 to 2025 will be assessed across various levels, including International, National, Provincial, District, and Zonal competitions.
