- Qualifications:
- Educational: G.C.E. (O/L) with credit passes in Sinhala/Tamil/English, Mathematics, and two other subjects (or NVQ Level 3), plus G.C.E. (A/L) passes in all subjects (or NVQ Level 4).
- Vocational: A recognized diploma in Electrical Technology from institutions like the University of Moratuwa, Hardy Institute, or the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Examination Structure:
- Paper 1: Intelligence Test and General Knowledge (2 hours, 100 marks).
- Paper 2: Technical Knowledge on air conditioning systems (1.5 hours, 100 marks).
- Topics include types of ACs, maintenance, refrigeration cycles, and capacity.
Salary and Terms:
- Salary Scale: Rs. 31,040–57,550 (as per government circulars).
- Probation: 3 years, with a mandatory Efficiency Bar Exam.
- Language Proficiency: Must be acquired within 5 years of recruitment.
