The Ministry of Education has officially announced that all Muslim schools across Sri Lanka will remain closed on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in observance of Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramadan Festival Day).
This special leave is granted to allow students and teachers to celebrate the festival, following the official public holiday on Monday, March 31, 2025, which marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
The ministry further stated that alternative arrangements will be made to cover the missed academic day, with schools being informed of the revised schedule in due course.
Meanwhile, all other schools in the country, including Sinhala and Tamil schools, will continue their regular academic activities during this period.
