2026 National School Teacher Transfers Online Application Process Announced
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has called for applications for the 2026 Annual National School Teacher Transfers. The entire transfer process will be conducted online.

📌 Transfer Categories
Category 1: Compulsory Teacher Transfers
Applies to teachers below 55 years of age who will complete eight (08) years of continuous service at their current permanent national school as at 31 December 2026.
Calculated service includes temporary attachments and paid or unpaid local or foreign leave.
Category 2: Annual Transfers
Open to teachers who do not fall under the compulsory transfer category but wish to request a transfer based on personal needs.
💻 Online Application Process
Teachers must submit their applications online through the official portal:
www.nstt.moe.gov.lk
After submitting the online application, teachers must provide a signed and dated printed copy to their school principal.
🏫 Principal Responsibilities
🖥️ Online Recommendations
Principals must log in through the official portal as a principal and submit their recommendations online on or before 03 August 2026.
A certified and signed printout with the official school seal must be attached behind the teacher’s signature page.
📌 School Instructions
Principals are required to display teacher instructions on the school notice board and update the relevant logbook.

| 07 | Confirmation certificate from chief prelate or parish priest for clergy members managing religious places |
| 08 | Ministry approval letter if currently attached to another institution |
| 09 | Ministry approval letter for sanctioned foreign leave |
⚠️ Important Notice – Direct Submissions Not Accepted
Applications sent by post or submitted individually by teachers will be rejected immediately without prior notice.
All applications must be submitted through school principals following the designated ministry procedures and checklists.
