The National Institute of Co-operative Development (NICD), Polgolla has announced the opening of applications for its Diploma, Certificate Courses, and Training Programmes for the Academic Year 2026. The institute functions under Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security & Co-operative Development and offers educational and vocational opportunities for students, public sector officers, and job seekers across the country.
According to the institute, applications are now being accepted for several diploma and certificate programmes with the application closing date set for June 15, 2026.

1. Diploma in Procurement and Contract Administration
Course content includes:

- Prevention of Procurement Frauds

2. Certificate Course in Taxation
Target Group:
- Employees of Cooperative, Government and Private Sectors
3. Care Giver Course (NVQ Level 04)
Target Group:
- School leavers
- Unemployed youth
- Individuals seeking stable local and foreign employment
- Individuals interested in the caregiver sector (Aged 18–50 years)
4. Computer Application Assistance (NVQ Level 03)
Target Group:
- Students who have sat for the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination
5. Information & Communication Technology Technician (NVQ Level 04)
Target Group:
- Anyone who has appeared for the G.C.E. (O/L) examination
- Those who have passed an NVQ Level 03 course
6. Diploma in Information & Communication Technology (NVQ Level 05)
Target Group:
- Anyone who has passed the G.C.E. (A/L) examination
- Those who have completed an NVQ Level 04 course
7. Higher National Diploma in Information & Communication Technology (NVQ Level 06)
