1990 Suwa Seriya Vacancies 2026 – EMT, Pilot and Dispatcher

Applications are invited for three important positions in Sri Lanka’s islandwide pre-hospital emergency ambulance service.

The 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation has announced new employment opportunities for suitably qualified, capable and dynamic Sri Lankan candidates. Vacancies are available for Emergency Medical Technicians, Pilots and Emergency Medical Dispatchers.

The foundation operates Sri Lanka’s pre-hospital emergency ambulance service under the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, with a fleet of 322 ambulances providing services across the island.

1. Emergency Medical Technician – Male and Female

Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
Three passes at the GCE Advanced Level Examination in any stream are required.
Preference will be given to candidates from the Bio Science stream or those holding NVQ Level 4 in a health-related field.
A minimum “S” pass in English at the GCE Ordinary Level Examination is required.
Basic IT knowledge is required.
Proficiency in an additional language will be an advantage.
Previous experience in Emergency Medical Services will be an added advantage.
Minimum height: Male – 5 feet 4 inches and Female – 5 feet 2 inches.
Body Mass Index must be between 18.5 and 27.

Selection and training: All applicants must successfully pass a fitness test. Selected candidates will be required to follow a diploma course conducted by the foundation in collaboration with a university.

Candidates who successfully complete the diploma must serve the organization for a minimum period of three years. Opportunities for foreign experience may also be available.

2. Pilot

Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
Applicants must have passed six subjects at the GCE Ordinary Level Examination.
A valid heavy vehicle driving licence is required.
A minimum of two years’ work experience in a reputed organization is required.
Good communication skills in Sinhala or Tamil are required.
English language skills will be an added advantage.
Minimum height is 5 feet 2 inches.
Body Mass Index must be between 18.5 and 27.
Visual acuity must be between 20/20 and 20/30.

Selection: All applicants for the Pilot position must pass an aptitude test.

3. Emergency Medical Dispatcher

Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
Three passes at the GCE Advanced Level Examination in any stream are required.
Good communication skills in both Sinhala and Tamil are required.
English language proficiency will be an added advantage.
IT literacy will be an added advantage.

Selection: All applicants for the Emergency Medical Dispatcher position must pass an aptitude test.
