The Department of English at the University of Peradeniya is pleased to announce the launch of its Extension Course: English for Professionals, a six-month certificate program designed to enhance language proficiency for career advancement. The course is set to commence in June/July 2025, with applications now open until May 10, 2025.
Course Details
The program will be conducted on Saturdays or Sundays from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, offering flexibility for working professionals and learners. Participants will be placed in one of three levels—Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced—based on a selection/placement test. The course spans 100 hours over six months, ensuring comprehensive skill development in English for professional contexts.
Eligibility and Fees
Applicants must have achieved a grade ‘S’ or above in English at the GCE (O/L) Examination or hold an equivalent qualification. The total course fee is Rs. 20,000/-, with an application processing fee of Rs. 250/. Notably, current students enrolled in any English Language Programme at the University of Peradeniya or those still attending school are not eligible to apply.
