The University of Kelaniya is now accepting applications for its prestigious Bachelor of Science Honours in Sports Science programme for the 2024/2025 academic year. Aspiring candidates are invited to apply through the University Grants Commission (UGC) and participate in a compulsory aptitude test, as outlined in the UGC’s handbook on university admissions.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have obtained at least a Simple (S) pass in any three subjects from any subject stream at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in 2024. In addition to submitting an online application via the UGC, candidates must register for the aptitude test, which includes:
- Physical Fitness Assessment: Evaluating candidates’ physical fitness qualities.
- Sports Achievements Evaluation: Assessing achievements at international, national, provincial, district, and zonal levels.
Application Process
Applicants are required to pay a fee of Rs. 1,800/- to Account No. 055-1001-40009867 at the Kelaniya Branch of People’s Bank. Payment can be made via:
- Manual/Bank Teller: Deposit at any People’s Bank branch and upload a scanned receipt at aptitudetest.kln.ac.lk.
- Cash Deposit Machine (CDM): Include name, National ID number, and “Sports Science” in the receipt narration.
- Online Payments: Use credit/debit cards with the same account details and narration.
The bank receipt, CDM receipt, or online transfer receipt must be presented at the examination centre. Failure to submit the receipt may result in withheld results, even if the candidate sits for the exam.
