Sri Lanka Planning Service (Limited) Application– 2026

The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government has officially invited applications from eligible Sri Lankan citizens for the Limited Competitive Examination to fill 24 vacancies in Grade III of the Sri Lanka Planning Service (SLPS).

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this limited recruitment, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• Educational Qualifications: A degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or a degree established under an Act of Parliament in Sri Lanka.
• Professional Experience: Candidates must be permanent officers in the Public Service or Provincial Public Service with at least five (05) years of active and satisfactory service.
• Salary Level: Applicants must be currently drawing a salary under salary codes MN-1-2025 (or higher) or SL-1-2025.
• Other Conditions: Applicants must have earned all salary increments within the five years preceding the application and must not be under any disciplinary punishment. Members of the clergy are ineligible to apply.

Examination Structure

The examination is scheduled to be held in July 2026 in Colombo. It will consist of three main papers:

Note: Candidates must sit for all three papers in a single language medium (Sinhala, Tamil, or English).

Selection Process & Remuneration

Selection will be based on the order of merit from written exam results. Candidates scoring at least 40% in each paper will be called for an interview to verify eligibility. While the interview carries no marks, failure to prove eligibility will lead to disqualification.

Successful appointees will be placed on the SL 1-2025 salary scale, starting at a monthly basic salary of Rs. 82,150/-, potentially rising to Rs. 195,970/- plus applicable government allowances.
