The Sri Lanka Excise Department has called for applications from qualified candidates for three Information and Communication Technology (ICT) positions on a contract basis.
The available posts are:
- Assistant Director – Information and Communication Technology (01 post)
- Information and Communication Technology Officer (01 post)
- Information and Communication Technology Assistant (02 posts)
Educational Qualifications
- Assistant Director (Grade III of Class 1): Candidates must hold a Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Computer Technology from a UGC-recognized university or institution; OR a general degree (with at least one-third course content in Computer Science/IT) plus a Postgraduate Diploma in the same field; OR a minimum NVQ Level 7 qualification in Information Technology (recognized by TVEC) with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
- ICT Officer (Grade II of Class 2): Similar pathways apply, including a direct Degree in Computer Science or IT; a degree with major in the field plus Postgraduate Diploma; a general degree plus Postgraduate Degree in Computer Science/IT; or NVQ Level 7 in IT with two years’ experience.
- ICT Assistant (Grade III of Class 3): Applicants must have passed six subjects in one sitting at GCE O/L (with at least five credit passes including Language, Mathematics, and English) and successfully completed a Computer/Information Technology course at NVQ Level 5 or above (recognized by TVEC).
Salary Scales (Monthly Allowance – inclusive of all allowances, per P.A.C 10/2025)
- Assistant Director: Rs. 92,238/-
- ICT Officer: Rs. 75,430/-
- ICT Assistant: Rs. 65,178/-
General Conditions
Applicants must be between 30 and 65 years of age. Appointments will be on contract for a period of two (02) years or until the vacancies are filled on a permanent basis, whichever occurs earlier. Selection will be through a structured interview.
