📜 Required Qualifications
- Driving Licence: D Category Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, obtained on or before 18 September 2023 (at least 3 years prior to closing date).
- Service: Confirmed in active service for the last 5 years as at 18 September 2026.
- Disciplinary Record: Free from disciplinary punishments under Public Service Commission Circular No. 01/2020.
- Physical Standard: Height not less than 5 feet 2½ inches (157 cm) with sound physical/mental fitness.
- Eyesight: Good eyesight verified by a medical certificate from the National Transport Medical Institute.
🚗 Practical Test & Selection Criteria
Selection is strictly based on order of merit from the practical test conducted by an authorized Recruitment Board at Postal Headquarters, Colombo 10. A general interview will be conducted, but no marks will be awarded for the interview.
Medium: Sinhala and Tamil (Applicants must sit the test in the medium through which they entered State Service).

- Temporary Drivers: Employees currently serving as temporary drivers due to service requirements are required to apply under this notice for permanent recruitment.
- Duty Leave: Selected applicants will be granted duty leave to sit the practical test; however, no travelling expenses or other allowances will be paid.
- Efficiency Bar: Selected candidates must pass the 1st Efficiency Bar Examination within 3 years of appointment and meet the official language proficiency requirements.
