The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has announced a call for applications to fill existing vacancies for teacher trainers in Regional English Support Centres across various provinces.
The announcement, dated 03.07.2025 (July 3rd, 2025), specifies the eligibility criteria for interested candidates. Applicants must meet one of the following service period and qualification requirements:
- Possess a minimum of five (05) years of service and hold a Bachelor of Education (English) Degree, Bachelor of Arts (Special) Degree in English, or a First Degree with English as a core subject.
- Possess a minimum of ten (10) years of service with a National Teaching Diploma or government teacher training.
Additionally, applicants must be not more than 45 years of age.
The Provincial Directors of Education are requested to inform eligible teachers within their respective provinces about these vacancies. Interested candidates are required to submit their duly filled applications, attached as Annex 02, through their Zonal and Provincial subject files to the ‘Director of Education, English and Foreign Languages Branch, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Isurupaya, Pelawatta, Battaramulla’ on or before July 31st, 2025.
The Ministry has also stipulated that the duly filled applications should be forwarded for the recommendation of the Zonal Director of Education/Provincial Director of Education through the Zonal/Provincial Deputy/Assistant Director of English
