The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Colombo has announced the call for applications for its Master of Gender & Women’s Studies (MGWS) program for the academic year 2025/26. This one-year program, conducted in English and held on Saturdays, is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge in gender and women’s studies, aligning with SLQF Level 09 (30 credits).
Admission Requirements
Applicants must hold:
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution; OR
- Any Bachelor’s degree with prior learning/work experience in gender and women’s studies; OR
- A Postgraduate Diploma (SLQF 8) or equivalent qualification with relevant experience; OR
- A professional qualification recognized by the University of Colombo.
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in English and perform satisfactorily in a selection test/interview.

- Duration: 1 year (commencing August 2025)

- Schedule: Saturdays
- Fee: LKR 200,000 for local students (payable in two installments).
