Master of Education (M.Ed) 2026/2027 &#8211; OUSL

The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) has officially announced the commencement of applications for its Master of Education (M.Ed) programme for the academic year 2026/2027. This prestigious postgraduate qualification is designed for educators seeking advanced knowledge, professional development, and career advancement in the field of education.

The programme will be conducted through selected regional centres, ensuring wider accessibility for teachers and education professionals across the country.

Where the Programme Will Be Conducted

The M.Ed programme will be offered at the following OUSL Regional Centers:

Colombo (S/T/E)
Kandy (S)
Matara (S)
Jaffna (T)
Batticaloa (T)

This regional distribution allows applicants to choose the most convenient study location.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must have one of the following:

Bachelor of Education (BEd) from OUSL or any other recognized university
Postgraduate Diploma in Education or Postgraduate Diploma (Special Needs Education) from OUSL or another recognized institution
Any other qualification approved by the Senate of OUSL as equivalent to the above

These criteria ensure that candidates have a solid academic foundation in education before progressing to the Master’s level.

Selection Test – Mandatory for All Eligible Applicants

All applicants who meet the admission requirements must sit for a Selection Test, which is scheduled as follows:

11th January 2026
Time: 10.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon

Only candidates who pass this test will be invited for an interview.
Note: Passing the selection test alone does not guarantee admission into the programme.

Application Fee

Rs. 1,500

Payments can be made via debit/credit card. Those unable to make online payments may deposit the fee in cash at the nearest OUSL Regional or Study Centre after submitting their online application.
