The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has announced a special notice regarding the Japan Specified Skilled Worker programme skill tests scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in July 2026.
According to the announcement, skill tests for Japan’s Specified Skilled Worker programme will be conducted in Sri Lanka by the Japanese Government. The tests are scheduled to be held at the Australian College of Business and Technology, known as ACBT, located at No. 32C, Dr. Lester James Peiris Mawatha, Dickmans Road, Colombo 05.
The announcement states that Japan has selected the following July 2026 dates for the skill tests.

Scheduled Test Dates – July 2026
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 27 July 2026.
Candidates who wish to apply for the skill test are advised to follow the official instructions before submitting their applications.
Important Instructions for Applicants
- Before applying, applicants must prepare a valid email address.
- Applicants must also create a Prometric ID in order to appear for the skill test. For this purpose, candidates should visit the official Prometric website and follow the instructions given there.
- The examination fee can be paid only by Visa Card. The notice further states that applicants may use another person’s Visa Card to make the payment if necessary.
- After successful registration, the Japanese Government will send the examination centre and address details to the applicant’s email address.
- Candidates are strongly advised to use only official websites and follow the instructions carefully when applying for the Japan SSW skill tests.
