The Department of Technical Education and Training has called applications for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Instructor, Grade III in the Sri Lanka Technical Education Service for 2026. Vacancies are available in Technical Drawing, Agriculture, Information Technology, Motor Mechanics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Electrical, Metalworking and Building fields in Sinhala and Tamil mediums. Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens aged between 21 and 40 years, hold a relevant degree or SLQF Level 5 qualification and possess at least three years of relevant experience. The written examination comprises an Aptitude Test and a General Knowledge Test, each carrying 100 marks, with a minimum pass mark of 40%. Selected fields also require a Practical Test. The monthly salary scale is Rs. 82,150 – Rs. 195,970. Examination fee is Rs. 600.

🎓 Educational Qualifications
- ✔️ A relevant degree recognized by the University Grants Commission, where the relevant field is included as a core or main subject
- ✔️ SLQF Level 5 qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 7 in the relevant field
- ✔️ A minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching or vocational experience, or a combination of both
