The Centre for Gender Equity/Equality (CGEE) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) is organizing a special event to mark International Women’s Day 2025, aligning with the United Nations’ theme: “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
This year’s event will particularly focus on fostering empowerment by redefining power structures and ensuring inclusive access to education, employment, leadership, and decision-making spaces. The initiative will emphasize providing opportunities for young women and girls to lead and innovate.
Gender Award Competition 2025: Call for Submissions
As part of the celebration, CGEE is launching the Gender Award Competition 2025, inviting undergraduate students from state universities to propose innovative solutions to gender-specific problems affecting female students within their institutions.
Theme: Innovative Solutions to Gender-Specific Problems
Participants are required to identify a specific issue faced by female undergraduate students in their university and propose a gender-sensitive solution.
Submission Guidelines:
- Open to undergraduate students of any gender from state universities, campuses, and institutes.
- Entries must follow the prescribed template; submissions in other formats will not be accepted.
- Proposals must be uploaded in PDF format.
- Entries containing plagiarized, AI-generated, or context-insensitive content will be rejected.
- A panel of experts will assess all submissions.
