The Department of English Language Teaching (DELT) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is now accepting applications for the Diploma in English – Intake 10 (2025).
Eligibility Criteria:
Prospective students can apply through one of the following eligibility routes:
- A simple pass in General English at the G.C.E Advanced Level or a credit pass for English at G.C.E Ordinary Level.
- G.C.E A/L qualification with at least three simple passes in one sitting or an equivalent qualification.
- G.C.E A/L with two simple passes plus certified work experience of one year.
- Completion of a foundation course equivalent to SLQF Level 2 after 12 years of schooling.
- NVQ Level 4 (Advanced Certificate) qualification.
- Completion of a 30-credit Diploma course.
Program Details:
- Duration: 1 year
- Mode: 50% Online, 50% Onsite
- Class Hours: Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Course Fee: Rs. 55,000 (Full payment required at registration)
- Commencement Date: 1st March 2025

Interested candidates must attend a walk-in interview on 8th February 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the DELT Office (2nd Floor, Sri Wimaladharma Mansion, University of Sri Jayewardenepura).
Applicants should bring the following documents:
- A duly filled application form .
- Original and true copies of certificates, along with two passport-sized photographs.
- A deposit slip for Rs. 500, paid to the provided bank account.
- Three self-addressed 9” x 4” stamped envelopes (Rs. 110).
