🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Age Requirement
Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age as at 10 August 2026.
Educational Qualifications
- Passed G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination in one sitting in three subjects belonging to Science, Mathematics, Agriculture or Technical streams.
- At least two subjects should be related to the relevant field.
- Passed G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) examination in one sitting in six subjects.
- Credit passes required in Sinhala/Tamil/English, Science, Mathematics and one other subject.
🎓 Professional Qualifications
Applicants should possess one of the following professional qualifications:
- A two-year Diploma in Agriculture awarded by an institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
- NVQ Level 6 qualification relevant to the Department of Employment.
- Any other technical qualification recognized by TVEC as equivalent in all respects to the above qualifications.

No previous work experience is required for this position.
🏠 Residency Requirement
Applicants must have been permanent and continuous residents of the North Central Province for at least three (03) consecutive years immediately before the application closing date.
Spousal residency will also be considered.
⚠️ Important Residency Notice
Applicants from national level will only be considered if there are insufficient qualified candidates from within the province.
Such candidates must serve in the North Central Province for a mandatory minimum period of five years.
Ordained clergy of any religious denomination are not eligible to apply.
💰 Salary & Service Conditions
Salary Scale: MN3-2025
Monthly Salary: Rs. 52,250 – 10×800 – 11×1,190 – 10×1,320 – 10×1,350 – Rs. 100,040
The monthly government-approved cost of living allowance will also be paid.
The position is permanent and subject to future government policy decisions regarding pensions.

🧠 Intelligence Test
Duration: 1 Hour
Maximum Marks: 100
Pass Mark: 40%
Evaluates logical reasoning, analytical skills, time management and decision-making ability.
🌱 Subject Related Technical Exam
Duration: 3 Hours
Maximum Marks: 100
Pass Mark: 40%
Includes agriculture-related subjects such as GDP contribution of agriculture, soil and plant nutrition, irrigation and water management, land acts, circulars and map reading.
The selection process consists of a written examination followed by a general interview.
📨 Application Procedure
- Applications must be prepared on A4 size paper using both sides according to the provided specimen format.
- Applications should be completed clearly in the applicant’s own handwriting.
- An examination fee of Rs. 720.00 must be paid in cash at any Divisional Secretariat within the North Central Province.
- Payment should be made under Revenue Head 2003.02.13.
- The original receipt must be securely attached to the application form.
- Completed applications must be sent by Registered Post on or before 10 August 2026.
