The Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management at the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) has announced the commencement of applications for the 21st Intake (2026-2028) of its Bachelor of Science Degree in Plantation Management (External) Programme.
The degree is primarily aimed at executives, officers, and proprietary planters in the plantation sector and related industries who are looking to enhance their academic qualifications while continuing their professional careers.
Key Program and Application Details
The B.Sc. (Plantation Management) is a three-year academic program, with the commencement date set for January 2026.
- Duration: Three (03) academic years (2026-2028).
- Medium of Instruction: The program utilizes a blend of English and distance mode of education, with printed learning materials also provided.
- Course Fee: The total fee is Rs. 300,000/- for the three-year program, payable in an initial registration fee (Rs. 100,000/-) and the balance in 05 installments.
- Scholarships: Ten (10) partial scholarships are available, covering half of the course fee for selected candidates based on financial needs, education, and work experience.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must satisfy any one of the following requirements to be considered for admission:
- A Diploma in Agriculture and Plantation Management or a Diploma in Modern Agro-technology offered by the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management, WUSL. OR
- Any other Senate-approved Diploma with a minimum duration of twelve months and awarded by a recognized institution related to Agriculture, along with one (01) year of working experience in the relevant field. OR
- Three (03) Passes in G.C.E. (A/L) examination in either the Bio Science or Biosystems Technology stream or the Agriculture or Mathematics or Commerce stream, OR an Advance Level examination of Edexcel or Advance Level examination of Cambridge, along with three (03) years of working experience in the relevant field.
All fulfilling applicants will be required to appear for an aptitude test on Basic Agriculture and English Language. Successful candidates who meet the minimum of 40% for each paper will be called for an interview
