The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education has officially invited applications for the promotion of Grade I officers to the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service (SLEAS).
The promotions aim to fill vacancies approved as of July 1, 2025, and January 1, 2026, in accordance with the existing Service Minute and its subsequent amendments.
Eligibility and Key Qualifications
To be considered for the promotion, officers must meet several stringent criteria as of the eligibility verification dates:
- Service Requirement: Candidates must have completed at least five years of active and satisfactory service in Grade I and earned five salary increments since their last promotion.
- Total Experience: A minimum of 18 years of active service within the Executive Service category is required.
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must possess a postgraduate degree from a UGC-recognized institution in a relevant field such as Special Education, Education Management, or Education Policy.
- Professional Conduct: Officers must have a clean disciplinary record with no punishments under Public Service Commission Circular No. 01/2020.
- Performance & Training: Successful completion of the Capacity Development Training Course and a “Satisfactory” or higher performance rating for the preceding five years is mandatory
