Deadline for Asset and Liability Declarations Extended by One Week Due to Website Crash
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has announced a one-week grace period for public officials to submit their assets and liabilities declarations, following technical difficulties caused by a massive surge in website traffic on the final day of submission. The original deadline was set to expire today, June 30.
Key Highlights
Technical Issues and the Extension
According to CIABOC Director General Ranga Dissanayake, a large number of officials attempted to access the online portal simultaneously on the final day, leading to severe network congestion and system delays.
Recognizing that many individuals were unable to complete their submissions due to these technical glitches, the Commission decided to grant an additional week’s relief.
Officials who have not yet submitted their declarations now have until midnight on July 7 to successfully upload their forms through the official online portal.
