Deadline for Asset and Liability Declarations Extended by One Week Due to Website Crash

Announced: June 30, 2026 New deadline: July 7, 2026

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has announced a one-week grace period for public officials to submit their assets and liabilities declarations, following technical difficulties caused by a massive surge in website traffic on the final day of submission. The original deadline was set to expire today, June 30.

Extended Deadline
July 7, 2026 — 12:00 Midnight
A one-week grace period from the original June 30 deadline

Key Highlights

New Deadline July 7, 2026, at 12:00 midnight.
Mandatory Method Submissions must be done strictly online, as per the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023.
Penalty for Non-compliance Late submissions after the extended grace period will face strict fines.

Technical Issues and the Extension

According to CIABOC Director General Ranga Dissanayake, a large number of officials attempted to access the online portal simultaneously on the final day, leading to severe network congestion and system delays.

Recognizing that many individuals were unable to complete their submissions due to these technical glitches, the Commission decided to grant an additional week’s relief.

“All officials who fail to submit their declarations after this extended deadline will face fines.”
— Ranga Dissanayake, Director General, CIABOC

Officials who have not yet submitted their declarations now have until midnight on July 7 to successfully upload their forms through the official online portal.
