Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements
- Applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Applicant must possess an excellent character.
- Applicant must be physically and mentally fit to serve in any part of the island.
- Age must be between 18 and 30 years as of the closing date.
- Applicants must be born on or before 13.08.2008 and on or after 13.08.1996.
Educational Qualifications
- Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in one sitting with 06 subjects.
- Credit passes are required for Sinhala/Tamil/English, Science, Mathematics and one other subject.
- Passed the G.C.E. (A/L) examination in 03 subjects in one sitting under the listed subject combinations.
Accepted A/L Subject Combinations
- Option A: Physics, Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
- Option B: Physics with one Mathematics subject and one Science/IT subject.
Professional and Technical Qualifications
Applicants should have any one of the following qualifications:
- NVQ Level 6 in the relevant field.
- National Diploma in Technology (NDT) from the University of Moratuwa or Hardy Advanced Technological Institute.
- National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES) from NAITA.
- Higher National Diploma in Engineering (HNDE) from the Ministry of Education / Higher Education.
- Diploma in Technology from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
- Successful completion of Part I of the Engineering Examination conducted by IESL.
- Any other technical qualification recognized as equivalent by TVEC.
Selection Procedure
Selection will be based on a competitive written examination scheduled to be held in October 2026 in Colombo.
