Sri Lanka Technological Service (Class III) -( Open & Limited)

The Department of Export Agriculture has officially called for applications to fill Class III vacancies for Sri Lanka Technological Service. These recruitments are being conducted through both Limited and Open competitive examinations.

1. Vacancies and Intake Categories

Recruitments are available for three primary positions:

• Extension Officer: 38 Total Vacancies (11 reserved for Limited intake).
• Farm Manager: 09 Total Vacancies (03 reserved for Limited intake).
• Technological Officer: 05 Total Vacancies (01 reserved for Limited intake).

Note: 30% of the total vacancies are allocated for the Limited category. If sufficient qualified candidates are not found in the Limited category, those slots may be filled by Open category applicants.

2. Eligibility Requirements

Open Competitive Examination:

• Age: Between 18 and 30 years as of June 8, 2026.
• Education: * Passed G.C.E. (O/L) in one sitting with 06 subjects including credits for Sinhala/Tamil/English, Mathematics, and Science.
• Passed G.C.E. (A/L) in one sitting with 03 subjects (including at least two from a list of specific science and technology subjects).
• Professional: Must possess a 2-year Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized school, NVQ Level 6, or an equivalent technical qualification.

Limited Competitive Examination:

• Service Requirement: Open to existing employees in a permanent departmental post with at least 05 years of active and satisfactory service.
• Education: Passed G.C.E. (O/L) in no more than two sittings with 06 subjects, including credits for Language, Math, and Science.
• Professional: Same diploma or NVQ requirements as the Open category.

3. Salary and Service Conditions

• Salary Scale: Rs. 52,250 – 100,040 (MN-3 2025).
• Probation: New recruits (Open) will serve a 3-year probation period; Limited recruits will serve a 1-year period.
• Placement: Officers must be willing to serve in any part of the island.

4. Examination and Application Details

• Application Deadline: June 8, 2026.
• Examination Center: The exam will be held exclusively in Kandy.
• Exam Fees: * One position: Rs. 1,000.
• Technological Officer + another position: Rs. 1,150.
