Applications are now open for the 2026 Scholarships for Estate Worker Children offered by the Ceylon Estate Workers’ Education Trust (CEWET), with the support of the High Commission of India. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities for children from estate worker families across Sri Lanka.
Available Scholarship Categories
Eligible students can apply under the following categories:
- G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L)
- Undergraduate Degree Programmes
- Vocational and Technical Courses at Government Technical Colleges
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a child of an estate worker
- Should have passed:
- G.C.E. Ordinary Level (minimum 6 credit passes), or
- G.C.E. Advanced Level
- Must be below 25 years of age
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following:
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- G.C.E. O/L or A/L Result Sheet
- Certificate from Estate Superintendent (confirming parents’ occupation)
- Latest salary slip of parents
- Copy of the first page of the applicant’s bank passbook
