The Government of Sri Lanka has officially announced the Salary and Pension Payment Dates for 2026.
Pensioners
Pension payments for 2026 will be made between the 7th and 10th of each month, depending on the calendar.
- Example dates: January 9 (Fri), February 10 (Tue), March 10 (Tue), April 9 (Thu), May 8 (Fri), continuing monthly until December 10 (Thu).
Armed Forces
Salaries for armed forces personnel will generally be paid around the 20th or 21st of each month.
- Notable dates: January 21 (Wed), February 20 (Fri), April 8 (Wed), June 19 (Fri), and ending with December 21 (Mon).
Government Servants
Government sector employees will receive their monthly salaries mostly on the 23rd or 25th of the month.
- Key dates include: January 23 (Fri), February 25 (Wed), April 9 (Thu), July 24 (Fri), October 23 (Fri), and December 22 (Tue).
Teachers
Teacher salary payments are scheduled slightly earlier, mostly on the 18th to 20th of each month.
- Example dates: January 20 (Tue), February 20 (Fri), April 8 (Wed), June 19 (Fri), September 18 (Fri), and December 18 (Fri).
