The Election Commission has announced a revision to the postal voting dates for the upcoming local government elections. Originally scheduled for April 22 and 23, postal voting will now take place on April 24 and 25, according to an official statement released by the Chairman of the Election Commission.
Despite this change, the previously scheduled dates of April 28 and 29 for postal voting will remain unchanged. The marking of postal votes on these two days will be conducted as planned.
In preparation for the elections, the Election Commission confirmed that arrangements have been made to issue 232,558 postal ballot papers for 112 local government institutions on April 21.
The Commission also provided a breakdown of the distribution process so far:
- By April 7, a total of 187,345 postal ballot papers had been issued for 113 local government bodies.
- By April 10, this number had increased to 211,904 for 105 institutions.
- As of two days ago, 16,688 postal ballot papers had been dispatched for 9 institutions.
