Northern Province ICT Officer Vacancies 2026 Overview

The Provincial Public Service Commission (PPSC) of the Northern Province has officially announced the Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to Class 2 Grade II of the Information and Communication Technology Officer Service for 2026. Qualified candidates are invited to submit their applications on or before October 30, 2026.

The appointments are permanent and pensionable, subject to a 3-year probationary period. Selected officers will be assigned within the Northern Province and are transferable across any regional office or administrative center in the province.

வட மாகாண மாகாண அரச சேவை ஆணைக்குழுவினால் தகவல் தொடர்பாடல் தொழினுட்ப அதிகாரி சேவையின் தரம் 2 வகுப்பு II இற்கான 02 வெற்றிடங்களுக்கு திறந்த போட்டிப் பரீட்சை ஊடாக ஆட்சேர்ப்பு செய்வதற்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. தகுதியுடைய விண்ணப்பதாரர்கள் 2026 அக்டோபர் 30 ஆம் திகதிக்கு முன்னர் தமது விண்ணப்பங்களை அனுப்பி வைக்க வேண்டும்.

Salary Structure and Key Service Conditions

• Salary Scale: MN 6-2025 under Public Administration Circular 10/2025: LKR 62,230 – 10×1,190 – 11×1,360 – 15×1,670 – 114,140/-
• Efficiency Bar (EB) Test: Recruited officers must pass the 1st Efficiency Bar Examination within 3 years from appointment.
• Second Official Language: Officers must acquire proficiency in the second official language during the probationary period as per Public Administration Circular 18/2020.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

1. Age & Residence Requirements:

• Must be a Sri Lankan citizen between 21 and 35 years of age as of October 30, 2026.
• Must have maintained continuous permanent residence in the Northern Province for at least 3 years within the 6 years immediately preceding the closing date; OR candidate/parent born in the Northern Province with 5 years of continuous permanent residence.

2. Academic & Professional Qualifications: Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following criteria approved by the commission:

• Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from a UGC-recognized university or degree-awarding institute.
• General Degree with Computer Science/IT as a main subject (at least 1/3 of course content) AND a Postgraduate Diploma in CS/IT from a UGC-recognized institution.
• Any general degree AND a Postgraduate Degree (Master’s level or above) in Computer Science/IT from a UGC-recognized institution.
• NVQ Level 07 qualification in IT (or TVEC-recognized equivalent) AND a minimum of 2 years of professional IT experience in a state, semi-governmental, or TVEC-approved institution.

Written Examination Structure

Candidates must secure at least 40% in each individual paper and achieve an overall aggregate score of 50% or above to qualify for the general interview. Selection is strictly merit-based.
