Applications for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Government Librarians Service – 2025. According to the Gazette notification issued on 07 November 2025, applications will be accepted online only through the Department of Examinations website (www.doenets.lk) under the section “Our Services.”
The online application process opens on 10 November 2025 at 9.00 a.m. and will close on 08 December 2025 at 9.00 p.m.
The examination will be held in February 2026 in Colombo, conducted by the Department of Examinations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka with excellent character.
- Educational:
- Passed G.C.E. (O/L) in one sitting with six subjects including Sinhala/Tamil/English, Mathematics, and two other subjects with credit passes.
- Passed G.C.E. (A/L) in one sitting with all subjects (excluding General Test and General English).
- Professional:
- A three-year Diploma in Library Science from a recognized university or the Sri Lanka Library Association,
- Or a higher qualification in Library Science approved by the Director General of Combined Services
