The Sri Lanka German Training Institute (SLGTI) has officially announced the commencement of admissions for the July 2025 intake, offering free vocational training for Sri Lankan students.
Programs and Qualifications
The institute offers National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Levels 4, 5, and 6, catering to students with various educational backgrounds.
NVQ Level 4:
- Open to Sri Lankan citizens aged 16-24.
- Requires G.C.E. O/L with six passes, including Mathematics and a Mother Language, or NVQ Level 3 qualification.
- Medium of instruction: Tamil and English.
NVQ Level 5 & 6:
- Requires NVQ Level 4 completion or G.C.E. A/L with relevant subject passes in the Technology, Maths, or Bio stream.
- NVQ Level 6 is available for those completing Level 5.

- Mechanical Technology – Production Technology, Welding, Machining
- Automotive Technology – Automobile Technician, Automobile Mechanic
- Electrical & Electronic Technology – Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, Electrician
- Information & Communication Technology – ICT and Networking Technician
- Construction Technology – Quantity Surveying, Drafting, Site Supervision
- Food Technology – Laboratory Assistant, Baking
Application Process and Entrance Exam
- Interested students must submit an application along with a Rs. 1,000/- bank slip to SLGTI Kilinochchi.
- Due to high demand, an entrance exam will be conducted for student selection.
- Hostel facilities are available for selected students.
