Rajarata University of Sri Lanka has announced applications are open for their Advanced Certificate in English (Extension) program for the 2025/2026 academic year. This program, conducted by the Department of English Language Teaching within the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, is designed for individuals in both the public and private sectors, as well as anyone with a keen interest in enhancing their English language skills.
Eligibility and Selection:
To be eligible, applicants should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination with Mathematics, Sinhala/Tamil language, and at least a simple pass in English. Those lacking a simple pass in English at the G.C.E. (O/L) or an equivalent qualification must pass a selection test conducted by the university. All applicants will undergo a selection/placement test and an interview before final selection. A significant advantage is offered to those who complete the Advanced Certificate program, as they will be eligible to enroll in the Diploma in English (Extension) program without facing the selection test.
Course Details:
The one-year course, scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays, will utilize both physical classroom instruction and online learning platforms, providing flexibility for students. The curriculum focuses on improving listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, and includes a literature component.

- Course Fee: Rs. 30,000.00 (payable in two installments)
